Handelshof
The Mülheimer Handelshof is a former hotel located in a prime city center location. Known as the "Street of Millionaires," during the industrialization period, notable industrialists and bankers settled in the historic villas on Friedrichstraße. Today, the listed complex is in close proximity to the Evangelical Hospital Mülheim. The scenic Ruhr meadows around the water station can be reached in just a few minutes and invite you to take extensive walks.
The hotel building is being extensively renovated while preserving the historic facade. The auxiliary buildings will be demolished and replaced with new constructions that extend to the opposite block edge. Due to the unique gradient situation on the property, an exciting concept was developed with the architects RKW+ from Düsseldorf, allowing for an attractive courtyard design between Teinerstraße and Friedrichstraße. The modern residential project for seniors includes 96 barrier-free apartments for one to two persons as well as a day care center with attached gastronomy and communal areas.
